Daniel Radcliffe Miffed At ‘Harry Potter’ Oscars Snub

Warner Bros.
.
It’s one of the most successful film franchises in all of history. With a total of eight “Harry Potter” films, all of which are in the Top 200 grossing films of all time (adjusted for inflation), it does beg the question: why has the franchise received no Oscar nods for acting, directing, writing, or best picture? Danielle Radcliffe weighed in on this question recently. See what he had to say, below.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, Radcliffe says he is “slightly miffed” with the snub from the Academy.
.
“I don’t think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids’ films, unless they’re directed by Martin Scorsese. I was watching Hugo the other day and going, ‘Why is this nominated and we’re not?’ … There’s a certain amount of snobbery,” said Radcliffe.
.
He did admit that it really wasn’t necessary to get a pat on the back from the Oscars. After all, as he put it, they do get paid “stupid amounts of money.” Do you think that the “Harry Potter” films deserved an Oscar nod for something other than a technical category?
